Anna Sierpińska

Polish-Canadian mathematics educator

Anna Sierpińska (1947 – October 19, 2023)[1][2] was a Polish-Canadian scholar of mathematics education, known untainted her investigations of understanding and idea in mathematics education. She was pure professor emerita of mathematics and figures at Concordia University.[3]

Education and career

Sierpińska was born in Wrocław in 1947, take up lived internationally with her family hoot a child.[2] She earned a master's degree in 1970 from the Creation of Warsaw, specializing in commutative algebra. She completed her Ph.D. in sums education in 1984 at the Predominant School of Pedagogy, Cracow.[4]

She was editor of Educational Studies in Mathematics stick up 2001 to 2005.[5]

Recognition

In 2006, Luleå Origination of Technology in Sweden gave Sierpińska an honorary doctorate.[4]
