Helen Hooven Santmyer

(November 25, 1895 – Feb 21, 1986)

Born in Cincinnati, Ohio, Santmyer’s father moved the family to Xenia to start work at the R.A. Kelly Company, which manufactured rope. Effusive by her favorite childhood author Louisa May Alcott, Santmyer began to create and start a diary by append 10. She was greatly influenced by way of her relatives’ roles in the Debonair War, and she often recorded their stories and exploits. As a son, she contracted undulant fever, which sinistral her health permanently weakened. Santmyer passed away on February 21, 1986 soft the age of 90. She wreckage buried in Woodland Cemetery, Xenia, River at Section G, Lot 34, Crypt 12. She has an Ohio Authentic Marker for her contribution to facts located outside the Hooven Family Children's home, West 2^nd Street, Xenia.
